1. Information We Collect

When you register and use Dzzel, we collect the following information:

• Identity & Contact: Mobile number, name, email address (optional).
• Business Information (Dealers): Shop name, address, city, GST number, pincode, WhatsApp number, dealer type.
• Individual Seller Information: If you list your own vehicle for sale via "Sell on Dzzel", we collect your name, mobile number, city and the vehicle's registration (RC) number, in addition to the vehicle listing details below.
• Vehicle Listings: Vehicle details, photos, pricing and condition information you submit.
• Vehicle Registration & RTO Data: When you (Dealer or individual seller) submit a vehicle's registration number, we retrieve that vehicle's registration and status data from the Government's Vahan/Parivahan database and/or through our licensed third-party RC-verification partners. See Section 3A ("Vehicle Registration Verification") below for details on what this includes and how it is used.
• KYC Documents: PAN card, driving licence, GST certificate and other verification documents you upload.
• Financial Data: Payment information processed via Razorpay (we do not store card details). Note: subscription payments are made only via the Dzzel website; the mobile app does not process payments.
• Usage Data: QR scan records, lead interactions, login timestamps and device information.
• Location: City and address information you provide; approximate location from QR scan IP addresses.
• Mobile App Permissions: If you use the Dzzel mobile apps, we request access to your camera, photo library, microphone, and speech recognition solely for vehicle listing and KYC document upload features. QR codes may be saved to your photo library. Push notifications are used for subscription, listing and account alerts.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and maintain your Dealer or individual seller account and profile.
• Display your vehicle listings to potential buyers on the platform.
• Verify a listed vehicle's registration, ownership status, insurance, hypothecation/finance and fitness/PUC status against Government and licensed third-party records, in order to reduce fraudulent, stolen or duplicate listings.
• Process subscription payments and generate invoices.
• Send OTP verification messages for secure login.
• Provide QR code scan analytics and lead management tools.
• Comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Improve platform features and user experience.
• Send important service notifications (subscription expiry, document approval, listing status, etc.).

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these circumstances:

• Public Listings: Vehicle details and seller profile (Dealer shop name/city/WhatsApp, or individual seller's name and city) are visible to buyers browsing the platform. Your mobile number is shared with a buyer only when they choose to contact you about a specific listing.
• Service Providers: We share data with Razorpay (payments), MSG91 (OTP SMS) and Azure (cloud storage) solely to operate the platform.
• RC Verification Partners: Vehicle registration numbers you submit are shared with our licensed third-party RC-verification partners and, through them or directly, with Government vehicle databases (Vahan/Parivahan) solely to verify the vehicle's registration and status. See Section 3A below.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or government authority.
• Business Transfer: In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred as an asset of Capitage Global (OPC) Private Limited to the successor entity.

3A. Vehicle Registration Verification (RC/RTO Data)

Dzzel allows Dealers and individual sellers to list a vehicle by providing its registration ("RC") number. By submitting a registration number and publishing a listing, you confirm that the registration number is correct and expressly consent to and authorise Dzzel to retrieve and verify that vehicle's registration and status information from Vahan/Parivahan or other authorised government data sources, either directly or through Dzzel's authorised third-party RC-verification service providers engaged by Dzzel from time to time. This verification is carried out for the purposes of vehicle listing verification, fraud prevention, and maintaining the integrity and safety of the Platform. This consent is captured at the point of listing through an on-screen confirmation.

The data retrieved can include registration, ownership serial, insurance, hypothecation/finance, fitness, PUC and permit status, and — because it comes from the RC record — may also include the registered owner's name and address. We use owner-identity fields internally only for verification and fraud-prevention purposes; they are never displayed on public listings or to buyers.

Buyer-facing RTO Report: Separately, a seller may opt in (per listing, via a distinct consent toggle) to let buyers view a limited, vehicle-only summary of this data on the platform — such as registration status, insurance validity, hypothecation/loan status, fitness and PUC validity. We do not show any owner-identifying information (name, address, father's/husband's name, or similar) to buyers under this feature, regardless of the seller's opt-in. This feature is off by default and can be enabled or disabled by the seller for each listing; Dealers can also enable it account-wide from their profile settings.

This data is sourced from Government records and third-party verification providers; we do not control or guarantee its accuracy or currency, and it is provided for informational purposes only. RC verification records are retained for as long as needed for fraud-prevention, audit and regulatory purposes, consistent with our KYC document retention in Section 4.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Microsoft Azure servers located in Central India. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.
• Secure token-based authentication (JWT).
• Access controls limiting data access to authorised personnel.
• Encrypted storage for sensitive documents.

While we take reasonable precautions, no system is completely secure. We retain your account and listing data for as long as your account is active. After account closure:

• Active listings are removed within 30 days.
• Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law.
• KYC documents are retained for the period required by applicable regulations.
• RC/RTO verification records are retained for fraud-prevention, audit and regulatory purposes for as long as your account or its listings remain active, and thereafter as required by applicable law.

You may request deletion of personal data not subject to legal retention requirements.

5. Cookies & Tracking

The Dzzel website uses cookies to maintain session state. We also use anonymous analytics to understand usage patterns. QR scan records include IP address and device type to provide scan count analytics to dealers; this data is not used to personally identify customers. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work correctly.

6. Your Rights

Under applicable law (including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023), you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data (data sourced from Government RC records can only be corrected at source via the relevant RTO/Parivahan; we will refresh our copy once corrected).
• Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal requirements).
• Withdraw consent for specific data processing activities, including the buyer-facing RTO Report opt-in for a listing (this does not withdraw consent already relied on for a completed verification).
• Lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority.

7. Children's Privacy

Dzzel is intended for use by adults (18 years and above) only, whether registering as a Dealer, listing a vehicle as an individual seller, or browsing as a buyer. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via notifications on the platform. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
